Hi there! I’m back with a new card to share with everyone. It’s a Valentines Day card we can give to our family and friends to express our love and appreciation.
In this project, I used my Valentines Bear Set Stamps from Art Impressions which is perfect for the occasion. I also used a few love-inspired stamps from my collection. The materials I used are the following: Cardstocks (white, black and red), American Crafts pattern paper from their Hip Hip Hooray Paper Pad, Winsor and Newtown Markers, Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black, Tsukineko Embossing Stamp Pad, Ranger White Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, and other basic crafting tools.
For starters, I cannot find a good Valentine message on my stamp collection that I could I use for the card so I decided to print one using Adobe Illustrator. You can always opt to do a handwritten message. I got the message from a Facebook post of a dear friend of mine.
Using my WRMK Scoring Board, I scored and cut my cardstock. The measurements that I used: ( I sort of made some allowances in case I need to trim it down) White: 5 1/2″ x 10″ then I fold it in half, Black: 5 1/4″ x 4 7/8″, Yellow pattern paper: 5 1/8 x 2″ and a white strip in the middle: 5 1/8 x 5/8 of an inch. I used a non-Valentine inspired pattern paper as I wanted to make the message and the decorations standout.
I used my Tim Holtz Stamp Platform to stamp the bears. This tool is quite helpful when you have to stamp over and over again to make a good impression most especially on big stamps like what I used in this project. I also colored them using my Winsor and Newton Marker. I do not have a coordinating die for these stamps so I had to fuzzy cut each one. I heat emboss the sentiment on a piece of red cardstock with a white embossing powder from Ranger then cut it using my paper guillotine.
To assemble the card, I glued the two pattern papers first in the black cardstock and then the small white piece in the center before I adhere it on top of the white cardstock which will be the base of the card. Next, I put all the stamps together in the center. I used a Scotch foam adhesive for the sentiment to pop-up. I stamped an extra bear with a string of hearts inside the card right next to the message and colored it as well to complete the project.
I really had fun working on this card and I hope everyone would also be inspired to create their own. Till next time and happy crafting!
