Hi, everyone! Today, I have a card to share with you. I had been very busy for the past few weeks but I want to share with you this card that I made just in time for Mother’s Day. I used to create cards for my mom when I was a kid. I can still remember how she loved it so much. She is now 74 years old and she kept all those cards I made for her. I truly am a certified mama’s girl!
In this project I used the Mom’s Life Clear Stamps. These are small stamps perfect for journals and planners. I decided to take it to the next level and use it to create a stamp background.
The supplies that I used for this card are quite basic. I used a lot of dye inks for the stamp background:
White cardstock for the card base measuring 4 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
Red cardstock cut in four 2 1/8″ x 2 5/8″ pieces
2 white rectangle cardstock in 2″ x 2 1/2″ for the stamp background
2 pieces of stripe pattern paper in 2″ x 2 1/2″ from American Crafts Hip Hip Hooray Paper Pad.
A small piece of black cardstock for the sentiment.
Small piece of Red glitter board for the MOM sentiment
Mom’s Life Clear Stamps
Alphabet die cut for the MOM sentiment.
Love you Forever stamp sentiment
Ranger Archival Ink in Garden Patina
Ranger Dye Ink Pad in Electric Lime
Ranger Dye Ink Pad in Pink Gumball
Lawn Fawn Dye Ink in Lobster
Versafine Onyx Black Ink
WRMK Score and Trim Board
Big Shot Die Cut Machine
Tim Holtz Stamp Platform
Tsukineko Embossing Pad
Ranger White Embossing Powder
Nuvo Crystal Drops in Simply White
Tape runner and scissor
After I scored and cut the cardstocks, I made the stamp background. I used my Tim Holtz Stamp Platform for accuracy. You can use an acrylic block but I had to repeat the stamping as I wanted to intensify the colors. In a piece of scrap paper, I made a guide where I could place the white cardstock so I could stamped two cardstock simultaneously by switching one from the other without removing the stamp in the platform.
I glued the red cardstocks with the stamp background and the stripe pattern paper together and adhere them on the white cardstock base card. I used my T-square ruler to align them.
For the sentiment, I die cut the letter M and O Alpha die cut on the Red glitter board using my Big Shot Machine. For the black background, I traced the dies on a small piece of black cardstock and fuzzy cut them.
Lastly, I heat emboss the Love You Forever sentiment in a black cardstock and placed them below the MOM glitter sentiment. For added dimension, I used Nuvo Crystal Drop in Simply White on both sides of the sentiment.
This is a quick and easy card project. I wanted something simple yet colorful. The only process that took me several minutes to create was the stamp background but other than that, it took me less than 30 minutes to finish this card.
I hope this inspired you to create your own cards. See you on my next post and thank for stopping by! Happy Mother’s Day!
