Hi, and welcome to my blog. I would like to share with you another birthday card project using a Happy Birthday Border Die. This is just a simple landscape card with a reverse fold. I did a lot of die cutting and no stamping for this project. The big die itself stands out on it’s own and I just put some color to make it more interesting.
The supplies that I used for this card are mostly cardstocks. 2 white cardstocks for the base measuring 5.5″ x 9″ that I scored and folded in half and another one measuring 5.5″ x 4.5″ to support the front design of the card, I used a teal cardstock and 1 teal polkadot pattern paper with same measurement as the white ones. I also used different colors of cardstocks from my scrap stash for the flowers and leaves. Lastly, I used my Big Shot Die Cut Machine.
First, I die cut the other half of the white and polkadot pattern papers. I placed the die cut an inch away from the bottom of the paper to give a space for the card fold. Then I glued them together with the white cardstock at the back to support the “Happy” die cut design and the polkadot paper on top. I made sure that they were aligned. Next, I run the die cut again on my Big Shot Machine with several different color of cardstock for the flower and the leaves and I used it to fill in the gaps on the flower and leaves design. I was halfway finish on this part, when I realized I could have used the white cardstock when I first run the die on my Big Shot Machine and I could have just colored it to save time.
To finish the card, I adhere the insert teal cardstock for a shadow effect. I hope you like this week’s card and I’ll be back again very soon with a new project. See you next time and thanks for stopping by.
