Hello my crafty friends! I am back with another holiday card to share. The last card I made had a blue winter theme. For this card, I decided to be more festive and colorful. I created a fun shaker card with gold star embellishments inside a hanging Christmas ornament.

I first scored and cut the papers I used for this project. I used an ivory colored carstock measuring 8.5″x 5.5″ folded in half for the base. I also used a red cardstock, red glitter foam sheet with adhesive for the sentiment and a holiday pattern paper design.

I die cut the red cardstock using my Sizzix rectangle dotted die for the red panel and circle die for the ornaments. I cut five of these circles from the red cardstock and glued them together for the shaker. This is to give the star embellishments more room to shake. I adhere a clear acetate before I glued the last red circle die cut on top.

I used Distress Ink in Squeeze Lemonade for the background of the ornament. I blended the colors only on the side of the circle for a shadow effect.

I stamped and colored my sedan with gifts and santa clear stamps on a white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Dye Ink and Touch Markers.

To assemble the card, I placed the red panel and pattern paper on top of the base of the card. Using my tape runner, I adhere a gold string on the left side of the card for the hanging ornaments. I adhere the circle backgrounds on top of the gold string. There should be a sufficient space to place the small red rectangle where the string are suppose to be attached.

I then carefully placed the gold stars embellishments at the center of the circle backgrounds and adhere the circle frame on top to seal the shaker. I first dusted the clear acetate with an anti-static powder to make sure that that the gold stars will not stick on the side and on the clear acetate.

After I fuzzy cut the stamps, I glued them on top of each of the shaker ornaments, then I placed the small glitter rectangle on top where the strings are suppose to be attached.

To finish the card, I remove the release paper on the joyful glitter sentiment and adhere it at the center, right side of the card.

Shaker cards are always fun to create. You can check my instagram and facebook for more inspiration and designs. Thank you for stopping by and see you next time!
