Easter Egg Greeting Card

Hello everyone! I would like to share another card for Easter. I used an egg shaped dies for this project. There are several card making techniques that you can use with these dies like a shaker card but I opted to create a basic greeting card with a recessed background for dimension.

I also used the Easter basket and egg stamps from Pretty Pink Posh Easter Friends Stamp Set and a few dies from my stash like the chevron shaped die and clouds from Sizzix Thinlits New Baby Die Set.

I only used a minimal amount of supplies for this card, mostly cardstocks (white, light teal, dark brown, green and yellow pattern paper I created using Adobe Illustrator). I also used Tumbled Glass Distress Mini Ink Pad, small light blue sequins, Nuvo Crylstal Drops , Memento Tuxedo Dye Ink pad, Tsukineko Embossing Pad,ย  Shin Han Touch Twin Markers, Ranger Gold Embossing Powder and Heat Gun.

I made several die cuts of the Easter egg on the white cardstock and one on the yellow pattern paper. I cut a single egg die without the scalloped die for the front background on the light teal paper and two scalloped die cuts on the white paper, which will cover the back of the card. I also made a partial die cut of the egg on a white cardstock folded in half and on the dark brown paper using the egg die and on the green paper with the chevron die. I only used a small portion of these die cuts. The basket and eggs stamps will cover most part of it.

After I die cut the clouds, I rub a light blue shade ink using Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass on the edge of the clouds to give it some dimension. I stamped the Easter basket and eggs on a white cardstock and then colored it with my Shin Han Touch Twin Markers then I fuzzy cut the stamps. I then prepared the front of the card. I adhere the green chevron die cut at the back of the brown die cut and glue it at the lower portion of the light teal egg then I glued the clouds. I cut the excess part of the cloud and the brown cardstock.

To assemble the card, I glued all the Easter background die cuts together with the yellow pattern paper on top. The cardstock with the partial die cut will be the base of the card and I just covered the back portion of the front and back of the card with the scalloped die cut.

I heat emboss the sentiment using Happy Easter using my Ranger Gold Embossing Powder.

There are several ways to recreate this card. You can also make an Easter Egg gift tag out of this Easter Egg Die Set or a bookmark or perhaps a shaker card as I have mentioned above. Thanks for visiting my blog and see you on my next blog.

Easter Holiday Greeting Card

Hello! This week’s card is for the Easter Holiday. This card is similar to the birthday card I featured on my previous blog. I made several patterns from Adobe Illustrator and I wanted to use them in my card projects. The colors of the cardstock I used for this card are all pastel shade except for the meadow green polka dot. I just find them so pleasing to the eyes and is perfect for spring.

In this project I used the Pretty Pink Posh Easter Friends Stamp Set and a few dies as well. This stamp set is just so adorable and very easy to color.

The supplies that I used are the following: cardstocks (pale turquoise, light yellow, and white), green and white polka dot and stripes pattern paper. I also used scraps of light pink, pumpkin orange paper for the easter bunny and egg. I also used a few dies for the easter bunny egg, stitched circle and scalloped and lace trimming dies. For my tools, I used Memento Tuxedo Dye Ink, Shin Han Touch Twin Markers, Nuvo Drops in Carnation Pink, Distress Ink Pad in Squeezed Marmalade, WRMK Score and Trim Board, Sissix Big Shot Machine and a few basic crafting tools.

I scored and trimmed the pale turquoise base card to 4.5″x 5.5″ and I fold it in half. I trim 1.5″ of the front of the card. Next, I die cut the Easter bunny egg, the scalloped and circle die, as well as the lace trimming. I had to die cut the Easter bunny egg twice in light pink for the ears and on pumpkin orange paper for the dots in the egg.

To assemble the die cuts, I glued the lace trimming at the bottom of the front card. I made an allowance of 1/8 of an inch where I could put the glue. I cut a strip of the green and white polka dot and adhere it on top of the lace trimming and the front card to cover the line where the die cut and the paper are connected. I put the circle and scalloped dies together. I smudge the squeeze lemonade distress stamp on the edge of the smallest circle die cut to give it a color fade effect. I kinda mess it up a bit but it will be covered by the bunny and egg die cuts. I placed the latter on top of the circle and glued them halfway on the left side bottom of the front of the card.

For the insert card, I adhere the pattern paper with the green and yellow stripes inside. I cut a small stripe of the green and yellow stripe pattern and glued it on the upper part of the card. I stamped the girl with the bunny ears as well the small basket of easter eggs on a white cardstock and colored then with my Shin Han Touch Twin Markers. I stamped the Happy Easter sentiment on a pale turquoise paper with my Memento Tuxedo Dye Ink and fuzzy cut all the stamps.

I glued the stamps in the middle of the insert card.ย  I put a few small dots of Nuvo Drops in Carnation Pink to add more dimension.

I will be sharing another Easter card project before the holiday so thanks for dropping by and hope to see you on my next blog!
